Admissions Policy

The St. Mary-St. Joseph School admissions policy follows the following guidelines.

  • The parents and student grade four or higher, will interview with the principal or the principal’s designate.
  • Applicants must submit transcript and records from prior schools, as well as required documentation as outlined in the registration material.
  • Applicants may be tested for their reading comprehension level and math competence to assure appropriate placement in class.
  • New students have a probationary period for the first semester to ascertain whether the school can meet the student’s needs and whether the student is able to adjust to the school.
  • Students will not be accepted at the school if in the opinion of the administration it is felt that the school cannot meet the educational and/or developmental needs of the student.

During the regularly scheduled period for registration, the following prioritization is used to admit students to St. Mary-St. Joseph School.

  1. Children from families already enrolled in the school.
  2. Children from families registered at St. Mary and St. Joseph parishes.
  3. Children from non-parish Catholic families.
  4. Non-Catholic children.

After the deadline for registration period, students will be admitted on a first come, first served basis.
