The SFA? What's that?
The School Family Association is a group of parents, teachers, grandparents, guardians...it's you! We all have one thing in common! We all want the best for our children!
SFA? PTA? PTO? What's the difference anyhow?
Nothing! We just have a different (and more friendly) name!
How do I become a member?
You already are! As a parent or guardian of your SMSJ student, you are already part of our school family. Why don't you attend one (or two...) of our monthly meetings to discover how you can get more involved in your child's (children) experience her at SMSJ!
Who belongs to the SFA?
All sorts of people...your, your friends, parents of your child's (children) friends, teachers, Sister Elaine...join us! You can make a difference!
What does the SFA do?
Has your family enjoyed the Halloween Carnival? The Advent Dinner? How about Reading Night, Pizza/Bingo Night, and, of course the GALA? We sponsor and coordinate all these events. These and many others are sponsored by the SFA. Come on out and be a part of the FAMILY FUN NIGHTS.
Hmm...I'm really busy! How often are these meetings?
JUST ONCE A MONTH ON THE SECOND WEDNESDAY OF EACH MONTH AT 7 P.M. Listed below are the dates for all our meetings for this school year. Go to your calendar and pencil in the dates of these important meetings. If you're free on on any night of our meetings, join us! We will welcome you with open arms, and you'll be helping the school achieve a greater success. You'll be glad you joined us.
Okay, you've convinced me. Who do I call?
Well you can just show up for any of the meetings, sign up to volunteer at an event, or you can help by working on a project at home. If you have questions, feel free to contact an SFA board member:
