After School Activities and Clubs


We offer a wide variety of special programs that develop and nurture dedicated students.  
We encourage students to explore our programs:

Basketball (girls and boys)
- 
 Students in grades 3-8 learn the skills necessary to participate in local basketball competitions. 

Cheerleading - Students in grades 5-8 form a squad and practice cheer and dance routines to build team spirit at the school's basketball games.

Chorus - Students in grades 1-8 sing high quality choral literature and perform concerts throughout the school year. 

Drama Club 
- 
Students in grades 6-8 act, sing, dance and participate in all aspects of live theater performances.  

Homework Club - Students in grades 5-8 have the opportunity to receive tutoring after school.

Mad Science - For an additional fee, students in grades 1-4 participate in hands-on science learning activities.  See http://www.madscience.org/ for more information. 

Mathcounts - Students in grades 7-8 participate in a math enrichment club that promotes mathematics achievement through competitions at the school, area, state and national levels.  See http://mathcounts.org/ct for more information. 

Mock Trial - Students in grades 7-8 engage in trial simulations which help develop their critical thinking skills, debating skills and public speaking.

Newspaper Club - Students in grades 7-8 participate in all aspects of publishing the school newspaper, including interviewing, story writing, newspaper layout and publishing.  

Student Council - Students in grades 5-8 represent and act as a student government and are responsible for many school-wide events, organizing food drives and aiding in community service projects.
